The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, visited the Agoro/Okunowa Road axis of Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, May 16, 2026, to assess areas affected by a recent environmental incident. The on-site evaluation covered impacted communities and schools, including Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School. He was joined by the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Operations, DCP Muritala Bolanle, the Officer in Charge of the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit, and other emergency response stakeholders.
Following the assessment, CP Ojajuni ordered the deployment of additional EOD personnel, surveillance teams, tactical operatives, and the School Protection Squad to strengthen security around the affected schools and neighborhoods. The visit was conducted alongside the Ogun State Commissioners for Education, Environment, and Health. During a sensitization session with residents, teachers, parents, students, and community leaders, the police chief stressed the need for calm, vigilance, and strict adherence to emergency protocols.
Residents have been advised to contact the Ogun State Government Emergency Call Centre at 08112000033 for any incident-related emergencies. They should also seek immediate help, assist affected persons to breathe using wet cloths where needed, and transport victims to the nearest hospital without delay. The Ogun State Police Command said the situation remains under control and that monitoring, surveillance, and coordinated response operations are ongoing.
