ABEOKUTA — As schools re-open across Ogun State, the Police Command has activated its School Protection Squad to secure learning environments. CP Bode Ojajuni said the deployment aligns with the IGP’s strategic focus on proactive, preventive and community-driven policing. The squad’s mandate includes increasing visibility around schools, protecting pupils, teachers and staff, safeguarding infrastructure, and gathering intelligence for rapid response. The Command also met with the Ogun PCRC Safe School Club, led by State Chairman Comrade Abdullahi Babatunde Lawal, to strengthen joint efforts with schools, parents and communities in spotting and reporting threats early.
CP Ojajuni applauded the PCRC partnership and urged the Squad to remain vigilant, engage school communities closely, and respond immediately to any credible security information. He reassured residents that the Command is prioritizing threat anticipation, incident prevention, and prompt protective action throughout the term.
The Command is calling on school proprietors, administrators, teachers, parents, students and the public to stay alert and adopt “SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.” Suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities around any school should be reported without delay, as early information saves lives.
