President Muhammadu Buhari has named Dr. Doyin Salami as his Chief Economic Adviser (CEAP).

Salami was the Chairman of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council until recently (PEAC).

Doyin Salami, 59, is Managing Director and Head Markets Practice at KAINOS Edge Consulting Limited, as well as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Lagos Business School (LBS), Pan-Atlantic University, where he recently attained the rank of Senior Fellow/Associate Professor.

According to a statement released by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the President’s Chief Economic Adviser is expected to address all domestic economic issues and present his or her views to the President.

Salami will also closely monitor national and international developments and trends, as well as develop and recommend to the President national economic policies to foster macroeconomic stability, promote growth, create jobs, and eradicate poverty, according to the statement.
