Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been congratulated by President Bola Tinubu on earning the CAF 2023 Men’s Player of the Year title.
In addition, Tinubu recognized the outstanding accomplishments of Chiamaka Nnadozie, who won Woman Goalkeeper of the Year, and Asisat Oshoala of the Nigerian Super Falcons, who won the Women’s National Team of the Year award for the sixth time in 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the Year.
This praise was found in a statement dated Tuesday and signed by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.
He described the players as sources of national pride and an inspiration for young football players across the continent, and he praised them for their exceptional accomplishments on both the national and international levels.
“I applaud Victor and Asisat for remembering their humble beginnings in the game they adore and for recognizing the influence of native coaches on their professional development.
“I pray, along with all Nigerian football fans, that this honor is just the start of a journey full of success, victories, and realizing all of your footballing dreams.”
