The Head Of National Office, West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Dr. Amos Dangut says 8,285 candidates have registered for the first series of computer-based West Africa school certificate examination for private candidates, 2024.

Speaking with journalists at a press parley in Lagos, Dangut revealed that the examination would take place from Wednesday, January 31 and end on Saturday, February 17, 2024, across Nigeria.

Dangut said the council is aware that the news of this innovation was initially greeted with some level of resistance, but it only served as an elixir for council to forge on its course to conduct the CB-WASSCE.

However, he added that council is encouraged by the acceptance of the innovation as evidenced in the number of entries received so far.
