ABEOKUTA — The Ogun State Police Command received the pioneer Director of Force Medical Services, AIG Nkechi Eze, BDS, MPH, fspsp, and her team on an official working visit to the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, received the delegation in what both sides described as a strategic engagement to align local medical operations with the Nigeria Police Force’s newly elevated healthcare structure.
AIG Eze said the visit was to inspect police health facilities across Ogun State and identify areas requiring urgent upgrade and support. She reaffirmed the Directorate’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and spotlighted key welfare initiatives, including the “Know Your Numbers” campaign. She urged personnel to embrace routine checks for blood pressure, glucose and other vitals to prevent manageable illnesses, and stressed the importance of enrolling in compulsory health insurance given the demanding nature of police work.
CP Ojajuni thanked the Force Medical Services for their contributions to the Command’s operational success, citing the role of medical personnel during Operation Kọ̀saye and other field engagements. He also noted that opening police medical facilities to members of the public serves as a corporate social responsibility that strengthens community relations and supports policing. The visit ended with a tour of the Command’s medical facilities and a group photograph.
