Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has taken his statewide familiarization tour to the Ifo Area Command as part of efforts to deepen intelligence-led policing and grassroots security. During the visit, the CP engaged traditional rulers, local government officials, sister security agencies, community leaders and police personnel to strengthen operational synergy and sustain public safety. At the palaces of the Olu of Itori, HRM Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, and the Olorile of Orile Ifo, HRM Oba Abdul Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, the monarchs commended the CP’s leadership and pledged continued support. CP Ojajuni acknowledged their partnership and highlighted the successes of Operation Kosaye, urging more collaboration in providing timely local intelligence.
The tour concluded at the Ifo Area Command Headquarters with a stakeholders’ meeting hosted by the Area Commander, ACP Williams Oluwaseyi. In attendance were the Executive Chairman of Ifo LGA, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, PCRC State Chairman Comrade Abdullah Lawal, traditional leaders, and representatives of DSS, NSCDC, FRSC, So-Safe Corps, Forest Guards and other agencies. CP Ojajuni applauded the level of inter-agency cooperation in Ifo, noting that despite the area’s size, security challenges have been effectively contained through joint efforts. He declared that Ogun State remains hostile to criminal elements and assured that the Command will continue to deny them space within the state and its borders.
The CP also introduced POCACOV, the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, as the Force’s key non-kinetic crime prevention drive, and encouraged residents to use the Gateway Shield platform to report suspicious activities with assurance of prompt action. He charged officers to uphold discipline and professionalism at all times. Responding, Hon. Kusimo commended the peace in Ifo and pledged the local government’s continuous support to the police. CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to strengthening intelligence operations and community partnerships to protect lives and investments across Ogun State.
