The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared wanted a suspected drug kingpin, Nnamuka Kelvin Uchenna (a.k.a Odogwu), and three associates over the operation of a secret methamphetamine lab in Imo State. Named alongside Uchenna are Emmanuella Chinonso Iroka, Nnamuka Ifeanyi Kingsley, and Ekechi Franklin Chijioke (a.k.a Ekene Okwunaga). The Federal High Court, Owerri, presided over by Justice Iniekenimi Nicholas Oweibo, issued the order on July 3, 2026 in suit FHC/OW/CS/22/2026 after NDLEA traced them to a clandestine facility raided on February 25, 2026 at Isiozi, Umuaka in Njaba LGA, where 18.4kg of meth was recovered.
Following forensic investigations, NDLEA froze bank accounts linked to the syndicate with a total balance of N9,840,873,566.66. The Agency also obtained interim forfeiture orders on assets allegedly acquired with drug proceeds, including a filling station, several multi-storey buildings, and four SUVs with plates RLU 148 AJ, KJA 563 FZ, BWR 249 DY and FST 208 HU.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), said the operation shows the Agency’s focus on dismantling drug networks and cutting off their funding. “Freezing nearly N10bn and forfeiting properties sends a clear message that crime does not pay,” Marwa stated, adding that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects. He urged members of the public with credible information to report to the nearest NDLEA office or use the Agency’s confidential lines.
