ABEOKUTA — The Ogun State Police Command has launched a full investigation into reports of farmland destruction, criminal intimidation and suspected land grabbing in Ajogbo Akia community. Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, said the probe was ordered following concerns raised by the traditional leadership and residents, with instructions to establish the facts, identify those involved and bring culprits to justice.
The Command stressed that issues of land title, boundary and ownership remain civil matters to be determined by the courts. It added that where individuals with valid title and statutory documents suffer criminal acts — including crop destruction, property damage, trespass or threats to life — they have the right to report to the police. To secure the area, Area Commanders and DPOs have been directed to carry out round-the-clock patrols and intelligence operations in Ajogbo Akia and adjoining farming communities.
CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the Command’s zero-tolerance policy on illegal land grabbing and self-help, while commending Baale Dr. Oluwasegun Adebiyi and community leaders for approaching law enforcement. Residents were urged to remain calm and cooperate with investigators by providing credible information to help restore and sustain peace in the area.
