ABUJA — WAEC and JAMB have launched a new policy that allows candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions to verify their WASSCE/O’Level results online. Instead of multiple checks, candidates will now complete a single verification through JAMB from home or any internet-enabled location, after which the result will be sent directly to their chosen institution.
Under the arrangement, candidates are to pay a one-time fee of ₦4,000 on the JAMB verification platform. Tertiary institutions will use the verified results provided by JAMB for screening and admission, and will not request another payment from candidates. WAEC has authorized JAMB to share the verification outcome with schools, ensuring that one successful verification can be used for multiple admission processes.
The boards said the move is aimed at reducing stress, cutting costs and eliminating repeated trips to CBT centres or institutions, while safeguarding the integrity of candidates’ records. They urged applicants to complete the verification early to avoid delays. The joint directive was issued on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 by JAMB and WAEC.
